Thankfully, it was not the day we died and we live to tell the story. It was day 3 on our trek to Machu Piccu in Peru and John and I were hiking it without a guide. Day 3, we were told, was the easy day. Short story is, it was not. We got lost, met a guy with a map and hiked together the rest of the way. The 3 of us saw death right before our eyes multiple times that day and when we finally got to a guesthouse to stay at for the night, we were given these massive beers and this bowl of popcorn. If you want the whole story, you'll have to read it in my travel sketchbook ;)
